wear similar / same outfit?

its tough after nearly 5 years to cobble together one outfit, let alone two!
it is relaxed industry where your normal clothes are fine day to day if that helps

ALSO..concerned over what they are going to ask, first interview went well...is this where senior members of staff appear with tricky technical questions and i crumble in a heap and get me coat..

any help appreciated, tia

Second interviews tend to be a bit more in depth, probing a bit more into your experience and skills, revisiting areas of potential concern, and possibly with a bit of repetition as there will probably be different people there. Difficult to say what they will ask without more information obviously.

In terms of clothes, personally I wouldn't wear the same thing, I'd beg borrow or steal to make it look as though I had more than one suitable outfit, but I don't actually think it matters very much.

Good luck!

thanks flowery, i think you are right, as usual!

i have another outfit but feel the skirt might be a bit short for interview (its about a couple inches above knee) though i have worn it for work before without a second thought..
just so used to trousers now!

was wondering if some more senior staff would make an appearance..they have asked me to bring along some good examples of my work and talk them through it...

things were informal but probing in the first interview and i felt it went well and would have been disappointed not to get a second (even though just back in job market after kids etc..)

i felt like they would be nice to work with and vice versa but dont want to rest on my laurels as i would so like to get it!

would they ask for references at this juncture or only if you are offered position? I need to check with my referees and really dont want to bother folks unless i have to...

Yes more senior staff very likely - have they not told you who you will be meeting?

Presentations often come at second interview, talking through examples of work sounds a similar sort of thing.

Probably more formal, and it's a good chance for you to ask some intelligent questions. Do.

Referees would normally be at the stage you get offered the job.

Depends what you wore 1st time around and who the interviewers were. For example, if you wore a suit, you can wear a different top and more/less eye-catching earrings/necklace, which will make it look a different outfit, especially if all the interviewers were men. Or wear a different jacket with same dark trousers and it will still look different. There are ways to make things look more different than they really are.

One thing about the 2nd interview: they are obviously serious about you and they may expect you to show that you know more about their business by this stage.

Make sure the referees know what you're doing: even if the employers don't take up references until after, if they really want you they could do it very soon and you want to make sure the referees know before they get the call.

Good luck.

no, havent been told who i am meeting.. it was panel of 3 the first time

have some questions in my mind, but will do more research this weekend

they were very complementary in email..impressed with knowledge of industry and my enthusiasm

jkklpu
i wore a swirly brown skirt just over knee and brown polo with electric blue tights, probably sounds yuk but actually looked quite elegant with my full length black coat and knee high boots

other skirt is short-ish, would that be all kwrong i wonder

dont have pierced ears and would get into an isadora duncan state with a scarf i fear..
will have a fool about this weekend see what i can cobble together..
i seriously dont have cash for clothes right now and dont know about trousers for interviews as mine are summer ones or jeans like

AuraofDora · 13/12/2008 16:01

thanks jkklpu

dh was saying the same, have got some nice thicker tights which would look fine and seasonal dont want sexy look

so shortish skirt (grey purple check), grey polo, long boots, long coat
