I really want to be a teacher vet police officer.
We have 3 little dcs and live a long way from the police hq, so I can only realistically work part time for now. Once you are trained it is possible to work part-time, does anyone know if you can train part-time too? has anyone done the training?

I think you can do the community support officer, which then is a stepping stone to becoming a police officer.

I think, but you would need to check, that some forces do run the initial training as a part-time course. Have you checked your force's website for details of recruitment and training?

Hi there. I am a police officer and work part time, there are plenty of us that do for all sorts of reasons.

I work in the Training Dept and all new recruits to our Force have to work full time whislt they are training (the first 20 weeks) so that they do not miss any class room inputs.

Not sure if this is the same for all Forces but once the 20 weeks input is over there would be nothing to stop you applying for part time working.

Hope that helps

Just to add I would ring your local police HQ and ask to speak to recruitment and selection or HR department for advice on your forces part time working policy and whether you could do the initial training on a part time basis.
