My husband (project manager in central gov) did his PRINCE2 with a company called Maven Training and recommends them. This is their site:

I did the 5 day course in Glasgow witha company called Advantage Learning. I believe that they also offer courses in London. Was v impressed with the company and the trainer (called Mike I seem to recall). Mike was a v experienced pm who used to be a marker for Prince before they changed the format of the practitioner test to be multiple choice/ computer marked.

Despite what people said to me I didn't find the course too arduous but I have been working on projects for a few years now and the concepts were familiar. There were some people on the course who really struggled with the workload as they were learning it all from scratch.

One thing i would advise is to check the mix of self funded attendees (like yourself) to people whose company is putting them through the course. Ideally you don't want to be the only self funder as you may find some of the company attendees don't take it as seriously as they aren't spending 1.5k of their own money on the course and it doesn't really matter to them whether they pass or not.

Inspirandum (www.inspirandum.com) are great and run courses in Earls Court. The trainer Nick is fabulous and very down to earth - he made us all laugh a lot in our 5 days there!

Before you sign up for a 5 day course, do your Foundation as distance - it's noddy if you've been working in PM and it's a multiple guess choice exam. For the Practitioner, I would get on a course - my previous company sent me on a 2.5d course with a guy who also used to be a marker for APM. I had flu at the time and so can't remember his name or the company, but I did pass so he must have been good!

good idea
