If I describe the job I would love to do, can you tell me if it does it exist and how would I go about getting it ?

I'm mad about cultural differences in people and the way different races do business and so I would love to train professionally to advise big companies on how to deal with foreign business partners...my main area at the moment is Middle Eastern culture but am happy to learn others...

Does this kind of thing exist?

If it doesn't then it really should. There is some sort of encouraging overseas business investment thingy that's attached to or part of the Foreign Office, I think. I'm presuming it would both be helping UK companies deal with foreign suppliers/customers, and vice versa.

I'm sure I have seen something like this years ago... International Business master or something of the sort... I think it was one of those things associated with a university degree in International Relations

HSBC have big posters advertising their advisors that do this, so you';d prob get a job for a bank in a similar role if you have the right experience.
I imagine you'd need to know other languages and have first hand experience of other cultures to be taken seriously.

Cultural Advisors do exist. They tend to be pretty high level though. Some big businesses hire ex-ambassadors etc to advise them on starting up in new countries. The people they hire tend to have lived in the country in question, have advanced language skills and have lots of connections with business people in the country.

Some civil servants in the Foreign Office also provide briefs for UK businesses settling elsewhere. Again these are high level civil servants who usually work in the countries concerned.
