Tax Credits Question

Grrr, just typed out a whole big thing and it got wiped somehow, so I'm just going to be brief now.

Currently single mum working 29 hours per week in Sales. Not happy. Just signed up at Usborne Books Organiser, there are LOTS in this area, so bit wary - but I have four events booked in my first month, so ok so far.

At what point do I need to declare UBAH as a second income?

Am I ever likely to be able to rely on UBAH as my sole income? Have you done it? How long did it take? How realistic is it?

If I did have UBAH as my sole income, what happens with tax credits? Would I still get my child care element? Would I still get it at all?

Thanks in advance.

well i'm guessing as a UBAH you are self employed
as such on the tax ceredits you have to declare yourself self epmloyed ( and also to the taz office) and thenthey will ask you

  • how much you recieve as an employee
  • how much you receive as a self emlpoyed person

you will bneed to tell them though and I find them very helpful on the phone

childcare is fine as as elf employed person you clam it in excatly the same way
