About 18 months ago (when ds started school) I negotiated a flexible working arrangement at work so that I would be able to drop ds off at school before going in to work. I work part time and this meant that I could do alternate long and short days to make up my hours. My new boss started about 6 months ago when I told her about my arrangement ? she was a bit non-committal, but didn't ask me to to change my hours, so I continued to work this arrangement. She is now saying that she wants me to go back to working 9.30 to 5.30 ? she hasn't explained why, but I'm assuming that it's because she doesn't trust me to make up my hours when she's not there. (I hasten to add, I'm very conscientious and I don't think she has any reason to suppose this). If I have to be in work for 9.30, it will mean rearranging my childcare, which will not only be more expensive, but much more hassle in the mornings and if I'm not able to pick ds up at the end of the school day, I like to at least be able to drop him off and have some contact with school.
She has given me the option of working through my lunch hour, which I don't feel is ideal. What I really want to find out is whether she has a right to take away my flexible working arrangement now ds is 6.
