Well done Dilemma! You must be delighted to see that your boss has made such an excellent recovery as well ...

SmugColditz · 10/09/2008 11:36

You have just increased your status immeasurably in their eyes, you know. You have balls.

BecauseImWorthIt · 10/09/2008 11:37

Respect!

SmugColditz · 10/09/2008 11:37

Don't confront him, just tell everyone what an amazingly fast recovery he made considering he was ill enough to be off work for something so important.

Everyone.

And 'sufficiently well'? Bastard.

Cappuccino · 11/09/2008 08:46

BlingLovin · 11/09/2008 08:54

I'm assuming the flowers and expensive gifts from him have been slightly delayed in the post or something?

'sufficiently well' - what a twunt.

Liking the cc idea, what a dick!

BlingLovin · 11/09/2008 08:59

sadly, we can only assume his boss is equally wankerish for not stepping up in the first place but there's no harm in

  • making him squirm if he's an ass
  • making him see what a great employee you are if he's not.

can't wait to hear if you get a reaction to that! evil

flowerybeanbag · 11/09/2008 09:03

I have to say if it were me I'd be inclined to book a meeting with him and let him know face to face how unacceptable you feel it was.

Clearly he was not actually either on his deathbed or dangerously contagious, therefore he could have staggered in even if just for that meeting. It showed a complete lack of consideration for you, a lack of courtesy to those people being given bad news at this meeting and a failure to take responsibility as a senior member of staff.

I would just feel as though looking him in the eye and making those points, making him squirm face to face would be more painful for him than having to read an email from you tbh. I'd feel that lets him off too easy.

Just my point of view though.

Cappuccino · 11/09/2008 09:06

I know nothing about it but I'd say flowery is right

it would also give a strong message that he couldn't dump on you again as long as you got a long lunch out of it

jamescagney · 11/09/2008 13:12

The cheek "sufficiently well". Definitely, email his boss and book a meeting face to face, grrr makes you wanna spit in his coffee!
