yes, I would use one, have thought about it before but not found one advertising locally. Also home-visit children's hairdresser would be v welcome round ours.

Tommy · 09/08/2008 23:08

TBH, if I want a facial, manicure or whatever, want to get out of the house so it is a complete break - no phones ringing or children wanting my attention

CvQ · 09/08/2008 23:08

what displacement said!

homecomfort · 09/08/2008 23:10

ooh goodie! i am in Hampshire, near Portsmouth. But afraid well off being trained yet.But i have always wanted to do this. For me personally to have someone come round to my home without me having to worry about leving the house nor take my slippers off would be great

I am same as Tommy. I have to book things like these well in advance but I prefer it off my territory. Sometimes, would be nice though and I think def a market for it.

clarebear1 · 10/08/2008 00:10

I done a beauty course this was my aim but kinda lost interest.
I am looking to get bk into it tho and do this it is a good idea, there is a high interest in it.
Who wouldnt love to have a massage then snuggle up in fromt of the tele or in bed instead of getting in the car and driving all the way home from a salon ay!!

becklespeckle · 10/08/2008 00:13

Oh definitely!

WilfSell · 10/08/2008 13:11

See if you could manage it, I'd prefer a home service in the evenings after kids have gone to be or DH can look after them. Or at weekends obv.

Littlefish · 10/08/2008 14:02

Yes, definitely. In fact, a group of us used to get together where I used to live, and have the beautician round one evening a month. She would do all our "essential" work first, like waxing etc. and then any time left over was for facials & massage etc. Very, very lovely to spend an evening with friends, have a glass of wine, and get pampered (or made decent again!)

It was cost and time effective for her, because she only had to travel to one place and only set up her equipment once.

mylovelymonster · 10/08/2008 14:04

Great plan - hope it goes really well.

WilfSell · 10/08/2008 14:07

in fact, anyone know a good way of finding a mobile beautician?

RTKangaMummy · 10/08/2008 14:18

I have a deffo brill lady that comes to me

She does NW London/Hertfordshire also Isle of Wight and Hampshire

It is really deffo brill

Word of mouth is always good,or if u know of someone that works in a salon that wants a bit of xtra cash. also could go to local college for those that are learning if u could trust them altho prob wouldnt be insured if not fully qualified yet!

elmoandella · 10/08/2008 22:48

i wouldn't like someone to come to my house. the whole idea of beauty treatments is to get away from house and kids chaos. once kids were in school i'd consider it.

Flibbertyjibbet · 10/08/2008 22:53

Oh god no.
The thought of the eyelash dye just been applied and my ds's kick off.
No, got to be the salon with relaxing music, proper thing to lie on and a nice relaxing session.

TracyK · 11/08/2008 11:38

Why not do both - I go to a Salon - but every girl I've had - did 'homers' in their spare time.
