..my DD is now at school and severalof her friend's mums are talking about going back to work - two at least of whom only want to work during the school day.
I was just wondering what is out there.

( permenant SAHM myself so please feel free to ignore me if I seem overly nosey )

Hello! Mumsnet Jobs team here. We've noticed this thread is fairly old now, and some of the information is out of date. We've put together this article of advice, tips and tricks to finding a job that will allow you to work within school hours. We hope it's helpful!

Local Government, on a flexible hours part time contract which specifies the number of hours work per month I do but leaves it up to me when. It's not term time only, but I can juggle hours so as to be doing more in term time.

(When I went on maternity leave they were shedding staff at a terrifying rate and happy to agree to ANYTHING if I stayed on!!)

I am a part-time lecturer (3 days a week)
and because I organise the timetable for my dept I can make sure that I teach the best hours.

Don't get half terms but have longer holidays for Christmas etc
