Maternity leave and redundancy

I need advice. I was promoted last year and this year went into mat leave in July. We had a new C suite who decided to restructure the team. According to them not to cut people or costs. They came up with the structure and the new roles. When I left part of my job was distributed to two other people plus a replacement that was hired at a lower position.
with the restructure i was offered 4 roles but this were all lower positions. The only other person who was in same position as me was offered better/higher roles. I spoke with the Chief and was promised a suitable role and that they would contact me. Nothing so far and emailed them last week. On Friday was told by a colleague that roles were assigned and my name came under one of the lower positions.

Please seek legal advice, you may be covered under your home insurance or contact ACAS.

I contacted Acas already, but they told my only about the next steps I should follow ie formal grievance. Was wondering if someone has been in this situation??

can you clarify what you mean by home insurance coverage?

You need to get legal advice promptly. Write as many notes as you can while you remember with details on dates, job descriptions etc and email them to yourself so it's dated.

At a basic level this does sound like maternity discrimination but the detail is key.

You should think about what you want to get out of this. It's unlikely you will get your old job back so is a payoff acceptable? Any settlement is unlikely to be significant unless you are lucky but could keep you going while you job hunt. You might get a few months of pay plus your notice period.

Is the new role worth accepting but negotiating better pay for it?

Good luck.

Thank you. From what I understood, salary will not change. But work is not about the money only. If I accept I will go one step backwards in my career, similar to not have been promoted at all.

I have been with this employer for 2.5 years and notice period in the contract is 3 months. I feel like I been lied to after our meeting
