How common is Sunday evening doom feeling?

My current role is not very well paid and not that interesting, but it is local and low stress. In previous roles I have had more money but a doom feeling on Sunday evening. I don’t know if I should be grateful at lack of doom feeling or look for more interesting work?

When I get it I know it's time to start looking for another job.

I also call it the Sunday scaries.

I actually love my job. I think for me, the scaries comes from the lack of brain distraction. So, one day off (Saturday) and im
done, I can’t cope with more than that 😂

Anyway I think it’s very common, whatever the underlying reason for it.

I had it for years when I was on the 9-5 treadmill but it stopped when I moved to working in health and social care, working shifts. If I’m rota’d to work on Monday’s I just swap my shift with someone else.

Don’t quite understand this comment. I was definitely bullied and felt anxious constantly, couldn’t sleep. I left.

I think the poster means that the bullying causes such dread at the thought of going back to work on the Monday that you don’t really get a break from it over the weekend.

I seem to be back to the 4am anxious wake-ups every morning after a fortnight in my new job (promotion from within my team). I don’t dread going to work because I enjoy what I do, but I am concerned about my workload over the coming months.

Me too, I still shudder a bit when I hear the theme from either The Antiques Roadshow or Songs of Praise. I've been happily retired for a few years now, and Sunday evenings are full of schadenfreude. Sorry to those who still experience this!

Omg the antiques roadshow theme tune is guaranteed to make me feel depressed!
