Anyone went from a nhs band 5 to a band 2 or 3?

I’m currently a bank nurse for nhs Scotland , I’ve been a nurse for 22 years now , I’m seriously thinking about going down to band 2 , this is due to burn out and I miss doing patient care . We’re so busy on the wards I barely. Get a chance to spend anytime talking to my patients.
i was a band 2 whilst doing my training and really did enjoy it . Any advice very welcome . Tia

Would it not make more sense to get off the wards completely, retaining your band 5.
Some jobs I can think of that people moved too, for less stress and more time with patients include pre-assessment, day units, outpatients, palliative care, sexual health, ccu where the staff to patient ratio is much better etc.
In my experience, the health care assistants on wards are flogged and the role is more physically demanding than a nurses. Band 2 pay is just shocking as well.

I worked with two nurses who retired and came back as Hcsw after being qualified. The first to do it has now fully retired and the other works a day a week and BLOODY LOVES IT. She gets to actually nurse people and has none of the qualified responsibilities. All band twos have been upgraded to band 3 so her pay has improved recently too. If I could afford it I would as well. The responsibility and paperwork is off the scale now and it’s genuinely overwhelming.

I’ve known people who have done this on retirement and have been very happy, alternatively there are probably some much less stressful roles out there at your level. I’m a band 6 in community and love my job, although admittedly I only work 2 days a week which I think helps, but probably similar pay to working 4-5 days as a band 2

Yes I did, I was on the bank as a band 5 but was struggling to find areas that I was happy to work in.
I then did some band 3 shifts in out patient clinics and now have a part time job in one and I love it!
But I did have to give up my NMC registration ( not a problem for me) and I also get my monthly nhs pension payment so money isn’t an issue.
Its definitely less stressful and I don’t have any regrets!

Thank you all
for your replies , my revalidation is due in October as well, going to have to really think about it . I’ve only meet one band 3 who used to be a nurse and she says she loves it . I feel
like I need a job that feels rewarding and not overwhelming , maybe just my age as menopausal as well?
