Early morning jobs to work around childcare

Looking into changing job as having difficulty with current one since returning from may leave 2 years ago (approx). Current job requires a lot of focus and concentration but my DD doesn’t sleep well at all. And Im not able to perform as I did. Physically I am fit but deep concentration work is not suitable. Currently only option I can see is cleaning which I did as a summer job for a few years a long time ago. Did you switch after kids came along? What do you do and does it work for your situation?

Most people stay in their same careers. No way would I give up my professional career that I worked hard for to be a cleaner (no disrespect to cleaners) jist because of having kids. Is your partner doing half the getting up at night and if not, why not?

I really cannot rely on my partner doing more so this is about self preservation and being less stressed. I have now been picked up for performance issues and absences so I would rather take a break and not have to grovel to my manager every time I'm off because DD is sick or Ive missed something very important because I haven’t slept.
If I could magic up more support that would be great but unfortunately the only option is finding an alternative job.

It sounds like you don’t have much support from your partner, if I’m reading that right? Both of you should carry the disruption of DD being ill/not sleeping.

OP you said partner so I assume not married. You absolutely need to keep your job - if you split, you have zero financial protection. I am also assuming your child is 3 years old if you went back to work 2 years ago. Are you getting professional support for the sleep issues? I think by 3 years you'd really expect a child to sleep through the night most of the time - unless specific reason you haven't mentioned. Managing child sickness/sleep should absolutely be split evenly.
