Coping strategies in a job you hate

Been at my company over 10 years, my job was interesting and flexible and I'm well respected.

Six months ago my team was moved in to a new one, and everything has changed; micromanaged, no flexibility and the workload is untenable. Its all about being visible, rather than doing a good job.

I've given it a good chance, but obviously I'm looking for a new role, but I'm quite senior in a niche area so this is likely to take a while.

Does anyone have any coping strategies till I can leave? I'm starting to have panic attacks, but I've got bills to pay and can't just quit.

I know this sounds a bit woowoo, but I tell myself "this shift will end"... repeat, repeat. Because your brain feels stuck in the moment.

Also, make sure when you aren't at work you're doing things you like and look forward to, even if it's just dinner. And do NOT think about work outside work hours.

Thank you. The workload means I'm often carrying on during the evenings and weekends, but that has to stop.

Noone ever lays on their deathbed wishing they'd worked more.
