Withdrawing my resignation in education and waiting for an update

Need a little advice, the situation is a tad complicated, however, I work in education and have recently withdrawn my resignation. I managed to speak to the headteacher before the post for the job was going up the next day and they agreed to speak to HR of the council after I left, he was supportive about it and keen to speak to HR, however I didn't get a chance to speak to the Headteacher on Friday for an update, so therefore I am unsure on what to expect, any advice?
thanks in advance

I imagine it would depend on whether they want you to stay.

It’s probably cheaper for them to not have to recruit but there are many factors. Primary or secondary? If secondary are you a subject such as physics where getting a replacement would be difficult? If so they’ll likely just want you to stay. Are you are a UPS primary teacher and they could save money by getting an ECT? Is it for a September start? As they’ll only get an ECT or non-working teacher now as it’s too late for anyone else to hand their notice in. They’ll get a narrow field so they may decide to just accept the withdrawal. I suspect they’ll be guided by what the HT wants.
