How long after an ankle fracture did you return to 13 hour shifts on your feet?

Ask for a referral to occupational health they can assess your recovery and give advice to the manager.

it depends on the fracture classification, whether it needed stabilisation surgery and healing rates. Recovery really differs even for the exact same fracture. You consultant should set the tone for how well your fracture is healing. Occ Health should help to interpret your current function ;walking/ standing duration) into a phased return once ready. Normally would begin on half shifts and gradually build over four weeks depending on the ward you’re on (assuming NHs form shift length?). In my experience, phased return between somewhere between 8-12 weeks for physical role, can be sooner if more sedentary.

You can also ask for a therapeutic return for up to 2 weeks (like a trial to see if you are ready - you’d still be signed off)
absolutely if not already sorted you need Occupational Health review
