Ex Fundraisers what do you do now?

The endless slog of crap managers deadlines, I'm finding it less and less enjoyable. Where to go from here for the next 10 - 15 years? Everything feels hard to predict with AI etc.

I'm about to be an ex-fundraiser. I dont know what to do, it was the skill I could sell for the highest price if that makes sense. What have you got in your area? I was looking at project development jobs maybe? so still vol sector but not the fundraiser, and/or looking at LA tendering and contracts. How about going gamekeeper? grants officer in a grant making trust or foundation? Or do you want to go off road?! What sort of fundraiser are you?

That's my dilemma - it's the skill I can sell for the highest price. I'm on the writing side, grants.

I'm just quite disillusioned that any of it makes any difference but maybe it's my recent dire experiences.

Maybe going part time would help or finding a new org.

I was wondering about the ops side, project development might be more interesting. Other ideas I had - occupational therapist, training as a teacher and going abroad for a while, going into procurement, further study in something.

I moved into programming, developed a niche expertise and then went into advisory roles and latterly into the civil service as a specialist in that area (poacher turned gamekeeper).

I would have thought commissioning or maybe philanthropy would be a good shout. Most people from my fundraising days are now in senior business development roles or leading programming.

When you say programming, do you mean IT and data? I'm going to have a think about my next move(s).

No, delivering the programmes and projects I'd been fundraising for.
