Hi,
I am currently working as a dinner lady at a secondary school and a LSA opening has come up. I was thinking to apply but nervous.
Can anyone help me on how the LSA interviews are done?. What would they look for? Also is LSA similar to TA?

My background: a science graduate, taught to older kids but 15yrs ago!.. then moved to part time admin jobs raising kids etc... then recently took dinner lady job at school as I want to work term time only.

Any help is appreciated 🙏🏼

LSA is just another name for a TA. Although in some schools they are more SEND based. Years ago there were BSA’s too (Behaviour Support).
Typically, an interview would involve a 10-15 minute English or Maths activity that you have planned for the children, something that shows you have basic maths and English skills (along the lines of “write a letter to a parent”, do a small part of a Maths SAT paper) and a Q&A session which will always involve a safeguarding question.
Working in the school already gives you a good advantage. Apply @Miramax, you have nothing to lose.
