Creating a LinkedIn account without current colleagues viewing your profile

If I create a LinkedIn account how do you stop current colleagues from snooping? I’m hoping to leave the NHS and move into something else and LinkedIn is a good way to start things going but I’m worried my boss will see it!

You cant. But what would be on there that you'd want to prevent them seeing? I'm you don't have to make job searches open, you don't have to post anything publicly if you don't want to.

Honestly, if I see colleagues popping up on LinkedIn as new suggested contacts I assume they are job hunting.

9/10 I'm right and a few months later they're gone.

I think you just have to deal with it tbh or think of an excuse if anyone mentions it.

If there's a way not to link your employer LinkedIn page to your job history that might help. It's a long time since I have updated mine.

You can block your profile from individuals one by one, I don’t think there is a group block option

Lots of people have a LinkedIn profile and not just for job hunting. There’s nothing wrong with setting one up. If you follow healthcare related content it could be useful anyway. You’re probably overthinking this. Just go for it.
