Single parent - remote role Vs higher paid hybrid job

I'm a single parent with a toddler and have 15 years in my career. In my current role I took a slightly more junior role with no management responsibilities after maternity leave, I'm 100% remote I earn a bit over over £100k. Before taking the role I relocated from London 2 hours away to live with my parents who help with childcare. I have a small house stil in London and was planning on selling it to buy near them. In my current role, although remote, I work for an American team and I often end up working late, it's very stressful and I feel awkward about taking time off, even though I'm entitled to it as my American counterparts don't take much holiday. I'm not really enjoying the role especially as it's not pushing me except on the workload front.

I've been approached about several roles returning to my old level of seniority with management responsibility where I'd be paid around 50% more (upwards of £150k all in) but they'd want me to do at least 2 days in London. This seems to be the trend in most roles I'm approached on.

I'm trying to decide whether it's feasible to do that or whether I'd find it a massive strain. The recruiter is telling me to just tell them I live in London as I have a place I can stay at least for now when I come up - I have also friends and family I can stay with as an alternative (one of them already mentioned it). My parents are happy to look after my child when I'm away. I don't feel comfortable lying as really I'd have to do consecutive days to make it work as I don't want to be away from my child too much. Is it worth switching remote working for hybrid and that much more money? Anyone been in a similar boat?

I would go for it.

It depends on what is important to you. How far is the travel, will it be exhausting, will your child and parents struggle? It’s about balancing the pros and cons and there are a number of people who could be impacted.
