What to do in this situation?

I work for local government in a small team of 5 people and a manager, other than the manager the 5 team members do different roles all with similar levels of responsibility. Out of the 5 I am a pay grade lower then the others even though my responsibility has increased over time. I have already had one regrade to catch me up to the others. What bugs me is I am always asked for help by the other staff, some of them have been working in the department for far longer then me. I am more trusted to get stuff done because im a doer and just crack on and dont moan so I tend to be the person others rely on or my manager can trust to perform. Recently this has started grating as I know I am getting paid less and therfore am less valued than my colleagues. What would you do in this situation. Request another regrade, look for another job, or hold out to see if a promotion comes up? I like my job but feel undervalued at the minute. I get on with my manager, and when I raised it with them they suggested i should not worry myself over what others are getting paid and think am I getting paid well for my role, which I supose I am, but feel a bit hard done by. AIBU?

I would make sure that I was documenting all my biggest tasks and what I had achieved and build up your answers ready for the next job application. I assume if you work for government then you will be able to access side steps or promotions into other teams where maybe you can increase your experience and hopefully move up the ladder. Good luck!

I would have a stock of answers to politely say no.

Or create some 'how to' guides and point them in that direction, every time.

It could be they are getting paid more because they are being (or being seen as) more strategic. You need to do that too. Create value in your role.
