All you work from home moms, can you help me?

I am increasingly struggling to pay childcare fees and balancing work and homelife. Is there any job I could do from home. I am an intelligent girl and could turn my hand to anything (quote from partner, patronising or what!)Seriously though it would be a great help if I could find something to do from home. Nothing major, just pocket money really. I have a PC and the internet if that helps???Ideas greatly welcome.............

I've also been lookin for something home based. I was offered a position with a telemarketing compnay, they were paying for calls and everything but it's only commission based pay of 1% so turned it down.
I've also looked at the online surveys, most of them pay in gift vouchers I've found and it is a bit long winded getting registered.
I used to do home work years ago, sticking stamps on envelopes for a market research company but you don't hear much of that anymore.
I don't want to pay out for franchise and don't want to be self-employed so will watch this thread too if that ok.

I'm doing clothing repairs and costume maing from home. It's rather dull but it works around ds's school and his reduculous school holidays. I have a law degree so would love to do something at home which is connected to that.

I have applied for a couple of things through workingmoms.com. Nothing i really fancy yet though.

Don't know if it's been suggested but Usborne books have low start up costs and you can do as much or as little as you like. I've been doing it for a couple of years now - it doesn't make me a fortune but it would if I went for it more - some people earn loads. I just found it a good way to make a little money and get 'free' christmas presents for my kids and others. An added side benefits is getting to know other Mums better by hosting parties (great fun!)and you can do it with kids in tow.

The way it works is you get recruited (and that person gets some commission on your sales) You get 28% and sometines free/discounted books. I'd be happy to give you more info if you like, but have never done the hard sell (or recruited anyone myself) If it's not of interest good luck.

Thanks I have seen this advertised by another mumsnetter. More info please...

May be easiest if you give me a ring. My mobile number is 07910 034318 and I can give you my home number to ring then or ring you. As I've never recruited anyone I'd have to research it a bit, but I can certainly tell you how it works and what my experience has been.

Start up costs are low (£38 in June as they have a deal on and you get stacks of books to get you started) and it costs nothing to stay involved. Give me a ring if you want to chat. My name is Sarah (to save you asking for Genghis the cat, which may confuse my husband as the cat doesn't get that many phone calls!)

Thanks Sarah will do

Staranise: ooh, thank you (even though was not me who asked in the first place). I have just been having a rummage around on Scribendi and will apply to them once I have rung up a few people to get them to agree to give me references. THough I may fall down on this a little as I can only claim 2 companies in the past 2 years and all my other potential referees last employed me about 6/7 years ago.
