Change to my role

I’m not sure how to explain without outing myself but this is the closest example I can think of.
Say I was employed to manage a fruit and veg shop .. I manage two part time staff . Have successfully done this for years and years.
Now HO have decided that we will need to offer deliveries ( not something we’ve ever done ) in a large radius of the county. A driver will be employed and I will manage them and their vehicle , I will organise orders , advertise then gather the orders , deal with routes etc
I feel that this changes my contract and job responsibilities. Although I am more than able to do this , time will be an issue and also the extra work at no extra salary.
How do I word this expectation without sounding whiney or being awkward about this expansion that they are excited about.

I did wonder if that was best way forward but am also curious that if I start and then bring it up they may say that I didn’t mention anything before hand… catch 22 I guess

Ask if the work you are doing now is likely to be the same, and how much of your time is predicted to be taken up by the new tasks.

Will you be required to work longer hours?

I am not sure I really agree with your analysis of the situation. Your contract probably already allows for this kind of variation.

You could speak to ACAS to talk it through though and see what they suggest.
