What do you do/what do you want to do? Indeed is pretty crap for anything other than generalist or (without meaning to sound rude) basic jobs.

There will be more specialist job boards for most specific professions, as well as LinkedIn (jobs and networking) and also recruitment agents.

Or if you just want (say) local temp work, then your local Office Angels or equivalent will probably be best.

I’m a single mum and looking for anything part time that doesn’t require too much thinking. I know that sounds lazy but I am currently working full time and I’m missing out on the kids too much… so anything part time!

Try the government job website. I think there are less fake jobs on there!

It is totally up to you to look for whatever type of work you want, but be aware that your preferences mean you are putting yourself in to a massive bucket of candidates with no way of differentiating yourself.

And discrimination against job-seeking mothers is unfortunately still very much a thing, whatever the law and company policies say.

So if you do have any niche skills, then now is the time to think how they could be worked into your job search. Speak fluent Cantonese? Know Harvard academic citation rules inside out? Previous experience of some impenetrable sections of IFRS?
