Torn between two Jobs

Hi. I am just wondering what others would do in my situation.

I have been working in my current company for 4 years, absolutely loved it and never had any problems, up until November. My manager starting excessively micromanaging me and she made an inappropriate comment, about my personal life. She hasn’t verbally spoke with me once since November. I raised this issue several times with her manager and nothing was ever done about it. He kept saying he would sort it and never ever did! So it became unbearable, I tried to get moved to another department but there was no job openings and I had no other choice but to leave. I got a new job offer and start in a few weeks, it is actually with a friend of the family (not too close). I handed my notice in 2 weeks ago, but on Thursday night my current company contacted me as an opening came up in a department that I had previously been in and I loved it and the manager from that department offered me the job.

I am now really really torn in what to do. I feel like if I stay I could regret not leaving but equally regret leaving. What would you advise?

look at finances, flexibility and progression
also if you stay at the same company is there a chance you’ll end up being managed /ovoid back to the team you don’t like?

@rubyslippers thanks for your reply! Money would be the same, new job slightly less of a commute. I would be going from a large company to a very small company of like 6 employees. Flexibility is much the same, current company possibly slightly more flexible. But both offer working from home. I am only 3 days per week (same days in both companies). I wouldn’t end up being managed by her again, but there may be a slight crossover between the new role and her. I may need to communicate with her! And I would be scared that she would nit pick even the slightest of mistakes. Progression wise, I’m not really too sure! I think both can offer progression. But would I be really silly staying and changing my mind on this new job? My mind is in overdrive right now. And I’m scared of making the wrong mistake.

I’d consider in the mix that current company made no attempt to appease you/improve your work experience until you handed in your notice… what if in new dept there is another issue?

Yea @Aboutmeabouttimethis is one of the things I’ve been thinking about and worries me. The only thing is, when I raised this issue several times with her manager he actually done nothing about it. And never raised it with any other level of management or HR! I was not aware of this until 1 week after I handed my notice in. Thank you for your advice!
