Bradford score

Im a community carer, over the last 3 moths ive had a lot of absences due to car trouble,
I was having problems with my car so traded it in , and theres been a few problems with this one which has had to go back to the garage under warranty to be repaired, in November I was off for 3 days quite poorly with a viral infection,
I have now been handed a letter due to my absence because of.the Bradford score chart,
I have tried explaining that where possible I have picked up double shifts even done a walking round, but while trying to explain this to my boss as.using our cars there will always be issues due to high wear and tear, I couldnt.get my point across as she kept.talking over me.and continued to text on her phone,
Now im just left worried that I will get into trouble if im off again and.my car is still waiting to go back into the garage for another repair, again I tried explaining this to my boss but she didnt listen. Can I loose mu job over this Bradford chart?

depends on your companies absence policy, have you read it? Are you pretending you’re sick when your car isn’t working or are you taking unpaid leave or annual leave?
you need to have a look at the policy

The system is corporate bullshit and completely arbitrary. It takes no account of individual circumstances. Even people with documented fit notes and known disabilities get caught out by it. It is unfair and unprofessional of your manager to be scrolling on her phone and talking over your head. I would certainly point this out.

Are they using the Bradford score for all absences? It’s usually only used for sickness absence.
When your car is off the road can you not take annual leave or unpaid leave? Is it a stipulated requirement for your job that you must have a car? If not then doing local walking shifts should be ok
