Early conciliation payout amount?

I am about to go through early conciliation with my former employer due to discrimination (disability related)
I haven’t got a solicitor but chat gpt has generated an amount it thinks I should ask for and an amount it thinks I should settle for. I just wanted to know, if you’ve been through the early conciliation process, how much did you think you’d get, how much did you ask for and what did you settle

This depends entirely on the type of discrimination (direct, indirect, failure to male reasonable adjustments, discrimination arising). What financial losses have you suffered? How has the discrimination impacted you? No one on here can you tell anything worthwhile without any of those details - but you should speak to an employment solicitor.

I’m starting a disability discrimination claim myself and just be wary- the amounts ChatGPT told me and the amounts actual lawyers told me are very different!! ChatGPT said I’d be in line for a huge payment, the three lawyers I spoke to said c£20k max but I’d have legal costs to pay.

Which vento band of discrimination are you looking at and what are your financial losses?

Please don’t use AI for legal advice. You could end up doing yourself a disservice- it’s usually obvious to the professionals.

can you get legal advice through your home insurance? Have you spoken to ACAS?

ChatGPT has its uses, but it REALLY isn’t a good substitute for legal advice! It often gets things wrong, over estimates the value of claims, and misinterprets the law to quite a worrying degree. I’ve even had letters from unrepresented Claimants citing case law which doesn’t exist!

You’ve had a view now from a trained human, so I’d rely on that. There’s no hard and fast rule and injury to feelings can be tricky to predict. But in ballpark terms, I look at the maximum possible value, then look at a more realistic value, then look at how likely the case is to succeed. But go in higher than you’d like at first so there’s room to move!

Ditch the chat gpt and use a free schedule of loss template - the number will be way lower and way more accurate to start negotiating from.

To be honest I think ChatGPT only works for legal advice when you have some legal knowledge and how to apply it. I studied law in uni (but ended up having to drop out before completing the course) so I do have some legal knowledge. I was able to ask a solicitor and they estimated it to be around the same amount

Its direct disability discrimination, failure to make reasonable adjustments, procedural unfairness and discrimination arising from disability.

I think it falls within the middle vento band

I have spoke to ACAS and have already begun the process of early conciliation. I don’t have home insurance
