Felling physically sick about starting a new job, is my anxiety normal??

I am due to start a new job and feeling really anxious and sick to my stomach about it. I am coming out of mat leave and being made redundant so have not had the smoothest transition. I want to work but my head is racing with can I do it? Feeling sad about leaving my baby and managing childcare with 2 kids now which I have sorted out already so rationally its not an issue. Anything you have done to help with these nerves.

Make sure you’re organised, that helps me
so plan your leaving time, outfit, if you need to take lunch etc and get up earlier than you need to so you can have a cup of tea or something

Of course it’s normal , the universe isn’t trying to tell you not to start the new job.
however, I’m not surprised you’re nervous. It’s tough going back after maternity leave, even if it was to a job you loved. You have a lot of ‘firsts’ all happening at once, but you can do it!!
presumably you either want or need the job, so instead of catastrophising and worrying about all the things that could go wrong. Try and concentrate your thoughts on all the things that could/ will! Go right. Be your own cheerleader, big yourself up, if you keep worrying your brain will start to agree with you, f you start telling yourself you will be FUCKING BRILLIANT ( you will) your brain will start to believe that instead. Make sure you have an outfit planned , buy a new bag, get the kids stuff ready well in advance and tell yourself the fluttery feeling sick nerves are actually because you are excited . You’ll rock op , I promise.

I do not think it is at all normal
I have usually looked forward to starting a new job
It is Just a job after all

Yes that’s normal IMO. Big change! Good luck.

But do you generally get anxious about anything?

Always nerve racking after maternity leave, even going back to the same job!

Tell yourself the positives: working gives you a sense of achievement, adult company, a salary and you’re paying into your pension.

Can you give yourself some treats during the day, like a walk at lunchtime or an uninterrupted coffee?

Thank you. I am usually quite organised, but like the idea of planning outfits. I have already mapped my route and timings.
