I’ve got 2 kids , 2 and 8 month old girls and am a SAHM atm. I’m thinking about work in when both girls are in school. I want something to suit the school hrs and since I’ve got time now, im thinking to start a new career.
im jsut not sure what to do really.
i used to work in care and HCA in a hospital but thinking of doing something different.
i might study something now that I’ve got time ( online ).

Please any suggestions! Salary is not the most important thing as i just want something for myself.
thanks

Is the trade off for term time work worth it to you?

You'll maybe need wrap around care for yours but you'll have all the holidays off, if you wanted to work in a school

You can train on the job in nurseries and early years.

That’s actually a great idea! I’ll have a look into it. Thank you

I work part-time and term-time only in a school office; its mostly answering phones, sending out communications to parents, taking deliveries, printing and doing minor first aid etc. Pay is low as I'm only doing 15 hours a week but it fits well around DS being at school nursery.

You'd need to think about transferable skills from your previous jobs - for example I'd imagine you'd have a good understanding of communicating professionally, confidentiality, safeguarding, working with sensitive data and of providing first aid which may be helpful for the role.

@AwkwardPaws27 that would be ideal!
yes I do have those skills and would love to get myself into that, but just out of curiosity, what kind of education are they looking for me to have to hired for that kind of role? Unfortunately the studies I have finished have nothing to do with that type of role, and I’ve done it abroad.
thank you

They only asked for GCSE English & Maths (or equivalent) for the role I applied for. Different schools may have different specifications though.

You can do free (government funded) onlinecourses in things like Level 2 business & administration that might help?

@AwkwardPaws27 I was just looking into it now!
my older daughter starts preschool soon so I’ll have more time and will definitely try and do it. Thank you so much
