I’m currently on maternity leave…..

I did a 4 week handover back in April and went on mat leave 1st May….

I have always replied to my boss any questions etc…. When I took my baby in I was asked about coming back doing bits etc from home.

For context I have nearly been there 7 years, my role was a new role and I have made the company a substantial amount of profit.

To the point - I have been doing some work on a particular project that was meant to have been paid we was going to use KIT days, I dropped everything to go in with my baby and have a telephone meeting. Been working emails, separate project just last week ensured everything was done correctly.

We did discuss being paid and then my boss was away then I was away etc the call never happened.

payday Friday and no extra payments messaged my boss…. “ Morning Just realised we never sorted out them hours/ days “

Then I had a call from her saying I need to work on projects she knows I have been dipping in and out bla bla.

Before my maternity I would be working all hours day and night.

I am really upset disappointed I don’t know generally feel like a mug pissed off.

To add insult to injury October would have been quarterly bonus, UK sales are not great however my orders ensure we hit bonus every month because of the work I have put in over 6 years. Everyone else got it apart from me because I’m on Mat leave.

I am due to go back in Feb and right now feeling like starting a fresh else where.
I am very hot headed and act before I think so would like honest opinions…

Yeah that's pretty shabby treatment. But you'll know next time you get asked to "dip in" here and there that you get it all recorded and chargeable.
I doubt there's much you can do about it now and in your shoes it would totally change my attitude.

I would email HR requesting payment for KIT hours.

Scottishskifun · 03/11/2025 11:09

Do you have emails from your manager regarding it?

Definitely sounds like KIT hours would state this ask foe the form and cc in HR

We don’t have a HR department it’s family run business. I don’t want to rock the boat to much as I’m able to work from home 2 days a week when I go back to cut the costs of child care. X

How will it cut childcare costs? You can’t work and be looking after a baby at the same time. You still need childcare when WFH.
