I'm four months in to a director post at a UK education institution, after ten years in the private sector. I stated in the interview process that due to having an autistic daughter, I would not be able to work in the office past 4pm (starting at 8.30), and would complete remaining work hours at home. This was agreed and written into my contract. Employer have not made any accommodation for this, they repeatedly place meetings in my calendar past 4pm, and I feel like I have to attend. In addition, I have been placed on the 'duty manager' rota, that can mean working until 9pm at night, and include duties such as suspending students, fire evac procedures and lock down procedures. For this I have received 45 mins of training on lock down only, which included the words 'just use your common sense'. On my duty manager shifts I am responsible for the wellfare of 2000 students. This week I was called upon to make myself present in a car park due to gangs being present. For reference I am 5.4 and 8 stone, I would be laughed at if I even approached. I feel like the place has fundamental failures that are not being addressed, and I am not enjoying the position. The role isn't what was discussed. I left a comfortable job where I stayed for 6 years, and now I don't know what to do. Any advice welcome
