Shift workers - Returning after maternity

Hi

I have been very lucky to have 16 months off with my baby. I’m returning to work tomorrow for my first 12 hour shift which is more like 14 hours with my commute etc. I’m on a part time roster so i will be working 1-2 shifts per week for now.
Ive been vomiting and have a migraine with the stress of it. I’ve not been away from my baby for more than 8 hours really maybe once or twice. She will be with her dad and I know will be overjoyed getting that daughter daddy time and is in more than capable hands but nothing stops me from feeling this way.
Any advice please I would really appreciate.
thank you x

Well it's a long day but it does mean that a significant proportion of your time out of the house she'll be asleep for assuming she's up for around 12 hours. So those are some free hours if you like. And great that she's being looked after by dad!

Thank you for your comment. I managed to finish early on day one. I think it was a worse day for me than baby she did so well with dad just refused to nap for him (she breastfeeds to sleep usually so milk in a bottle or cup didn’t suffice unfortunately:( )

You've had loads of time off.
I only had 6 months with my first child and you should have weaned her before starting work. I'm sorry but you're being very precious.
