New job and absolutely hate it

Hello, I've just started a new job two weeks ago and I absolutely hate it. It is fully remote so I'm feeling bored and lonely. It was a pay rise which I desperately needed as was struggling but the training is rushed and without structure.

I thought fully remote would be challenging but my new colleagues don't even message to say good morning and we haven't had a single conversation that wasn't a meeting about work.

I'm starting to deeply regret leaving my old, comfortable job, but I was stagnating and there was no progression at all, plus not earning enough to enjoy life, but I didn't hate every day in my old role :(

Do you message your colleagues to say good morning?

As above. You need to be proactive. Maybe they are just busy and immersed in what they are doing. Can you ask your line manager for more time with them/more training?

I pretty much wrote a post like this last year. I think there are 2 factors in this situation - how you are as a person and the company culture.

I can't speak for all companies but in my experience of wfh /hybrid I hated it. The "hybrid" part really meant most people never showed up to the office at all. Honestly it was awful... Resulted in crap/non existent training, couldn't get hold of the people you needed etc. Yes we had the odd conversation but the relationships were so different to that of an office environment. I think the main issue was they were already set up that way when I started having changed to hybrid after covid so most teams knew each other etc. Lots who joined the same time as me or after have left.

I am now back in the office (in an old job I regretted leaving) 5 days a week and couldn't be happier. One thing I know is it if went wfh or hybrid it would be very different.

Maybe you just need a different wfh role?
