Do you mean how many hours of unpaid overtime?
far too bloody many. At least a couple of hours a day usually.

RhubarbandCustardYummyYummy · 12/09/2025 22:27

15 hours a week

Lesina · 12/09/2025 22:28

None. To be fair I do less than I am contracted to do. I’m employed more for my knowledge than for my productivity, so I have loads of time where I am ‘at work’ but actually doing things for myself. However when I need to step up and sort things, I do.

Florally · 12/09/2025 22:28

Probably an hour or two a day but I’m happy to do it. I love my job and I’m very well compensated for what I do.

ResusciAnnie · 12/09/2025 22:30

I only get paid for the hours I’m actually in with students. So all my planning, admin etc is unpaid.
I can generally do all my planning and admin on site in free hours though, so don’t tend to do much at home.

mynameiscalypso · 12/09/2025 22:34

Not as many as I have done in the early years of my career when working through the night wasn’t uncommon but a fair few. But my salary is decent and I have flexibility to run my diary how I went so I can make school events or finish early if I need to for some reason without anyone caring.

Willquery123 · 12/09/2025 22:51

Lots. Luckily I enjoy what I do!

15minutesaday · 12/09/2025 22:52

None now. Since they went all peculiar with us about agile and flexible working - as in it' s no longer agile or flexible, I'm working to rule.

Imperfectpolly · 12/09/2025 22:53

Zero. Very lucky to have finally found job in my industry where it's not expected.

Katieweasel · 13/09/2025 05:06

None now. Previously up to maybe 25 hours a week for many many years. Something happened at work and my manager blamed me for an error of hers on a project that I wasn’t even involved with. When I pointed this out I was pulled up for not being a team player. Now work my contracted hours 8-4, have a proper lunch break and book and take all my annual leave. I do still work an extra 20 hours as I now have a second job in the evenings but I’m paid for that. I will never work for free again.

TappyGilmore · 13/09/2025 05:31

Not really any. I might sometimes finish 15 minutes late because it makes sense to finish something that I’m in the middle of before leaving, but there’s never an expectation to stay late. I have a lot of flexibility anyway so if there was really a need to work overtime then I would take the time back.

Iocainepowder · 13/09/2025 05:35

None. I need log off asap to do school pick up. I won’t get merit pay rises or bonuses either so no incentive.

I also have never had my work email on my personal phone.

Readyforslippers · 13/09/2025 05:46

About 20 hours a week, it's just expected with what I do.

golemmings · 14/09/2025 14:37

Including my 30 mins commute I'm doing 13hr days.. I get paid for 7.5hrs.

Kitchenbattle · 14/09/2025 14:39

Unpaid? 0…
but this week I did 1 hour in total at a rate of double time…and 1 hour at 1.5 time.
