PIP Assessor

Hi, does anyone have any experience of being a PIP Assessor?

Won't go into detail but basically I'm off-sick due to various reasons including mental health issues. I work as a nurse on a ward and it's too much - I can't cope with how stressful it is now so I just don't think I can work on a ward anymore.

I was considering applying for a PIP Assessor position as I think with my MH issues I will be happier working from the comfort of my own home, alone.
I also want a sedentary job now, rather than a physical job, being on my feet rushing round for 13 hours.

Any insights or stories would be great, thank you.

I know a few people who have done it. Think from what I’ve heard it’s very target driven in the sense of quality of reports

In my experience you'd have to learn to twist truths, make things up and write nonsensical reports.

Such as:
My autistic son lives in "supported living".
The PIP Assessor reported that he didn't need any support and his PIP was stopped completely.

After numerous meltdowns from son, managed to get it back with the help of our MP.

If that's how you want to spend your working life, go for it!
