Interview advice - anyone HR for local government?

I already work for LG in a low band admin role. I desperately need to move to a higher paid job and have applied for a few internal roles but my interview technique always lets me down. I get so nervous, thrown by questions and then don’t provide solid answers.

I have an interview next Tuesday for a support officer (Highways) and am already assuming I won’t get it.
How can I prepare myself and get solid examples of evidence the interviewers will be looking for.

I work for the civil service not LG. But I would say think of some examples and prepare your answers using the STAR model (google it) and always make sure you include the impact of your actions. So if they ask about a time you solved a problem you explain briefly the situation , the problem and then what you did to solve it and then how you know it was a success.
always have a few examples of things like how you reflected and did something differently, how you prioritise and how you communicate with different types of stakeholders. Don’t be afraid to ask for time to think or to come back to a question, or to ask them to repeat it.
good luck! Believe you can do it

Research the job as much as you can so you can drop info about it even if it's not one of the questions.Ive done this for the last two jobs I've applied for and I got both.Good luck.
