Degree Apprenticeship Social Work

Anyone done this or currently doing it? I'm considering it as a way to career change into social work, while still earning. I have an (unrelated) undergraduate degree so a Masters is also an option but I'm not sure I can make that work financially. Keen to hear experiences, especially around the placements and how prepared you felt afterwards as a newly qualified social worker. I have some work experience in children's residential settings.

I believe you need to work for a while with a Local Authority to be suitable for a degree apprenticeship, and the wages are not great. It's usually offerred to staff who have worked as a family support worker/drugs worker for a few years. Good luck, whatever you decide.
