Two interviews, too far apart - what to do

I’m pretty keen to leave my current role, due to toxic management.

i have applied for two roles, very different positions within the same large, multi-national company. I have interviewed for one this week and I’m due to interview for the second one, the week after next.

The first interview went very well and I’m definitely getting ahead of myself but what if job interview 1 offers and I’ve not yet interviewed for job 2? I think I’d prefer job 2 but I know job 1 won’t want to hang around to see what happens with job 2 and I don’t want to then end up with zero! What would you do in this situation? Many thanks!

Say yes to the job anyway, it will take time to receive, read and sign contracts etc anyway. You can always pull out if you get job 2. Good luck!

Since both jobs are with the same company they could pull both offers!

OP, there is risk whatever you do, but I'd be inclined to say that if the offer comes in for the first job that you are honest and say you really want to work for the company, but out of the two jobs the other is your preference, so would they be prepared to accept a provisional answer. If not then I think you have to decide - take the risk on job 2 or tell them that you will acept job 1 and pull out of job 2. No matter hopw large a company, they can still make connections, and I don't think it shows up well to play them.
