Breakfast for littl'un before work?

Hi all - My 18 week old DD will be starting nursery for 2 days per week when I return to work next week. She isn't weaned yet so will give her a bottle on waking, but further down the line, how do people manage doing weaning against the clock??

I'll be getting myself up at 6am and getting completely ready before getting her up at 6.45am, feed her bottle, wash and dress her and out the door by 7.15am. Eek! Any suggestions welcome!

That's quite a tight schedule.

How flexible are the bursery regarding weaning? Will they feed her what you take in or do they prepare food on the premises?

It is a nightmare! DD is BF so her feeds last upwards of half an hour. The only way we cope is as a tag team. Dp gets up with us and makes us Tea and packed Luches whilst I feed. He also Showers then. Then he gives her Breakfast whilst I Shower and dress. Then I wash and dress her whilst he gets dressed. No matter what I leave on time as I collect her so have to leave on time.

He takes her to Nursery. He is often late and has to work late in exchange. The only alternative we can see is to get up even earlier. Thank goodness for flexitime

He He - It is a tight schedule but luckily she does down her bottle pretty quickly. I will have to ask nursery about what to do... I wonder if I could continue to give her milk on waking and then she could have breakfast at nursery when she arrives at 8am?

Luckily I have a job that isn't very tight on time-keeping, and certainly won't be expected to be in the early days.

Hmmm....

We always gave bottle on waking (and still do at 2). Then off to nursery for brekkie.

It means that she has up to an hour between milk and breakfast - but we maintain that gap throughout the week even though she is only at nursery 3 monrnings. We made that her routine.

In fact she won't eat much breakfast if you try and give it with/too soon after milk.

Good point about keeping milk and breakfast apart - It could be a small bottle to keep her going and 'kick-start her metabolism' as they say!

I just don't

she has a big feed at 6am
we are out of the door by 7.30
no assistance from DH as his work routine is too varied to rely on him being there
it is not fun but it is possible

nursery used to offer her breakfast at 8am but she was never interested in it - she gets milk at 10am and lunch at 11.30 though so isn't without food for long.

My little boy is 8 mths and recently started nursery,

Hes usually has breakfast about 7am and milk about 9an before nap,

Prob is he is now messing with breakfast in morning, think I will get nursery to do it when he arrives at 8am.

Glad I found this book as was wondering how everyone does it!

My DD has breakfast at nursery because she often isn't even awake when we get there

She is BF and I feed her at nursery before I leave her, then they give her breakfast.

Mine both breakfasted at nursery until they were 2 and then at home from then although DD is given toast on arrival at nursery. It is probably very common to breakfast at nursery.
