I don’t understand the title or most of your post.

Look for another job? Other schools may have something? Could you be a teaching assistant?

There are a lot of typos (OP is presumably stressed) but I think I've worked it out. Manager (head?) asked OP which area of work she'd rather move to but OP isn't happy with any of them and would rather stay on reception.

Have you actually been there as long as two years, or have you rounded up?

What areas were on the list? Is it things like business manager, finance and so forth? Could you get them to train you?

Eldermileniummam · 30/06/2025 18:03

Not sure what you're asking OP

Carol52 · 01/07/2025 06:39

Yes sorry about the errors.
i said I don’t mind being taught however finance would not be a good choice. Because I did not say what I would like to do ( to be fair I was the last one to be asked) she seemed annoyed but I get stressed very easy and because I did not work for a long time I still feel awkward sometimes socially etc. yes I have been there 2 years in September

It sounds like They are trying to avoid making redundancies by widening roles out a bit. They’re also being quite courteous by asking you first which bits of other admin you would lean towards.

Saying “none of them” gives the employer the message you aren’t going to cooperate so have a think and talk to your boss about preferences. Say you were stressed at first but have reflected and..blah blah.

If you HAD to would you rather supervise lunchtime or process an invoice for example.

I was not rude I said I don’t mind trying anything . As long as I had training I did not think I was being un cooperative

Would you find it easier to send an email?

”thanks for the chat about my role going forward. I’ve had a bit of time to think about options now, and think that my skills most suit the x department. Would it be possible to see the job descriptions for each of the roles? Can I have a chat with the line manager to get a feel for how the work will look? I look forward to hearing more about the new structure and how I can contribute positively”.

Or some such waffle …
