If your a member of staff and also a patient at the nhs trust you work for, how do you go about keeping your medical records private from your line manager and colleagues. what dept would i need to speak to regarding this?

My understanding is that if someone is not directly involved in your care then they should not be accessing your records. You shouldn't have to request this, it's standard practise.

If anyone looks at your notes, and they aren’t involved in your care, they can be sacked. It’s taken very seriously.

Yep, sackable offense. If you don't have a valid reason to access someone's records it will be investigated.
If you work in an area who also treat your condition that's more difficult. Most people in that circumstance would have their care elsewhere.

It is an offence to access medical records if you are not involved in the care of that person.
Everyone in NHS knows this and does training on this. It is very easy to see who has logged into each patient’s notes.

It’s a sackable offence and can also be reported to the body who regulates them (eg NMC) and the police.

Is your team actually going to be involved in your care? Because that is tricky as they will legitimately need access to your notes.
If not then your manager etc would be very very foolish to do this and they will be aware of the consequences as there is inbuilt monitoring going on all the time and also you or anyone else can ask for an audit of access to your notes at any time.

If you suspect someone accessed your health records you can flag it to HR. You shouldn’t have to say anything about it but if you’re worried someone in your team is going to look then you could talk to your manager to maybe mention in a team meeting about how you will get sacked if you access health records to someone you are not involved with.
