Can anyone help me with my A/L calculator

I recently started working at a NHS Trust. I know I can ask my manager this question and I will at our next mtg but I didn't want to appear a bit thick.

I just do not understand my annual leave calculator. I have put in the hours I work into an AL calculator and they say I am due the same hours that my manager has said: 42 (5.6 days) That is including bank holidays. So I agree with that. The thing I do not understand is that when I book a day's leave she records it as 1 day, where I would have expected it to be 6 hours as I work 6 hours per week, all on one day every Monday.

I have to book the bank holidays off that fall on a Monday. Should I be "charged" 6 hours for these or 1 day? Does any of that make sense? If anyone could help I would be very grateful.

Pro-rata annual leave entitlement

Entitlement excluding bank holidays (a)
32.50 hours
4.33 (days)

Pro-rata bank holiday entitlement

(b)
9.50 hours
1.27(days)

Entitlement including bank holidays (a+b)
42.00 hours
5.60 (days)

Your AL should be in hours and if your entitlement includes bank holidays you will be deducted for these if you don't work them. How much of the holiday year is left? That's not a full year entitlement.

If you only work 6 hours on a Monday, you should only be deducted 6 hours when you take leave on a Monday, whether that's annual leave or bank holiday leave.

I expect it's just an oversight on your managers part! Just remind them you work 6 hour weeks and ask if you can submit your leave request in hours. Your manager should b fine with that.

@WFHmutha25 I thought it was a full year, from April to April but I'm so confused. Will speak with my manager.
