Claiming travelling expenses for passenger

I gave a lift to a colleague for a work training day off site at a venue 50 miles away. On the way home I gave a second person a lift back.
Work was aware of this as colleague okayed her taxi expenses from the train station to my house beforehand.
The venue was just over 50 miles away, so around 100 miles.

On the HMRC website there is info about claiming for a passenger.

There are two different rates for passengers on the firms expenses claim system - 50p or 55p so presume I choose that rate instead of the 45p rate.

In reality, do people claim this? Would I look really tight if I claim this?

How do I deal with giving a lift back to second person, one way only?

I think you can only claim £0.45p per mile from HMRC website. Not aware of anyone being able to claim more.

You should definitely claim. I promise you, other people will claim for every expense they can and not think twice. You’re entitled to it, and you will get no appreciation or recognition from your company for doing them a favour otherwise.

Exactly @CopperWhite plus there is a passenger rate as an option so it must be there to be used!
