How did you get the job?
What qualifications did you have, or what did you do to prep for the role?
Is it an enjoyable job suitable for a very organised person?

They are employees of the PC. Training can be on the job. There may be information on the NALC website about the role and qualifications. Different pc have different set ups and responsibilities, some of which are Statutory, and may or may not have a separate Financial Officer.

I've known people do both. Some people clerk for small parishes and do the work for multiple small parishes on a self employed/contractor basis.
Bigger parishes /town councils they are more likely to be an employee

I'm a parish clerk (have been for 10 years) and absolutely love it. The work is very flexible, and with a supportive council, there are lots of opportunities to develop your skills and progress further.
