I am considering applying for a job within the nhs. orginially this job was meant to go out to advert for 30hours, however they have changed it to 37.5 hours instead. i spoke to the employer who advised this is now full time.

im not sure if i can do full time or want to. however i wpuld be willing to give it a go. if in 3 minths its not working out, can i request for reduced hours? would they still say no or can they say no?

You can ask to amend your contract but they don’t have to say yes. You can do it more formally too by submitting a flexible working request - you can find all details on ACAS

That depends. Sometimes they will accept it down the line, but other times they will give you an ultimatum, work the hours or quit. I have been on both sides. If someone else works more hours you can work less. If they hire someone willing to work the hours, they are going to look for your exit.
