Have had a bad run with jobs. Had a good job in a secure company for years, made a change for career progression and shorter commute. Job 2, COVID happened, a key recruit didn't work out, and the promised team just never really materialised, so left for another small company. Job 3, had some happy time, then things went sour, manager "Sue" was forced out and the new mgr was a borderline subtle workplace bully, took to heart, a lot of self doubt, ended up on medication and left. Then had a choice, go work with Sue to start a new company. Or go work in a more established small company with another ex colleague "Ruth". Chose to work with Ruth, Job 3. 6m later, Ruth and most of the other directors have handed in notice, along with critical technical members of team leaving me most senior and 2 below. Don't really want to be a director, would rather go to work 9-5, do work, forget about it.
Wwyd?
Stick it out in hopes MD makes some good appointments?
Become a director because essentially going to be doing job anyway?
Go to Sue cap in hand and say I made the wrong choice before, can we try this thing after all?
Look for a job in a bigger company in hopes it's less exposed?
Take a step down because don't want the stress?
