No, you are not shit at all. I went back to work FT when DS was 9 months old, and I was really ready to get my brain working again.

Have to say, nearly 6 months in, it is getting harder as he is completely adorable (was v hard work when tiny, cried a LOT) and I miss him a lot.

They won't look after him better than you at nursery, never fear being replaced it won't happen - but I'm sure they will do a good job - my DS seems to love nursery and they are a lot better than I am at doing "craft" crap which I simply haven't the patience to do with such a young child.

Good luck, I hope work goes really well for you and your LO settles in well.

thank you for the nice words i wonder if i am just trying to convince myself in order to cope with leaving her ...perhaps wishful thinking on my part

It is a wrench but I have found it good for me - absolute ideal for me would be part time but I am trying to get qualified as a solicitor and that doesn't really happen part time. Have promised myself another baby when I am qualified and then I am going part time!!

I know if I was still at home with DS I would be climbing the walls by now, its horses for courses and don't let anyone tell you otherwise or make you feel bad for exercising the choice that's right for you.
