If your company has moved to a 35 hour working week, what does this look like for you?

Which company? Can I join? I'd love a 35 hour working week.

I work for local government and full time is 35 hours. I work 4 days, so 28 hours. I used to work for HSBC in a branch role and that was 35 hours too.

I have a 35 hr work week but most people above senior admin level are working above their hours so it’s not as short a week in reality.
Contracts are usually 9-5 with hour for lunch.

although I do a longer day and work 4 days a week (which does help reduce the free hours my employer gets from me)

I work for a university and have always worked a 35-hour week. 9.30-5.30 are standard full-time hours with an hour for lunch..

When I worked in an office, it was 35 hours a week in London. 9am-5pm/10am-6pm with an hour lunch.

I was in a 35 hour job. I did 2 x 14 hour shifts and 1 x 7 hour shifts. Just moving to a 36 hour job where I will be doing 3 x 12 hour shifts each week.

I worked a 36hr (FT) working week for much of my working life and it was great.

When I started work in 1981 a FT week was 42hrs but over the years this was gradually reduced and for the last 20yrs it was 36hrs.
Various working patterns were available but my preferred option was the 4-day week (working 4x9hr days).

I have a 35 hr contract. If I’m in the office I tend to do a 9 to 5 with an hour at lunch. If I’m wfh I will start at 8 and finish at 4. That’s in theory… I often work longer hours as business demands but will take the time back at other times. My employer is very good.

I do 35 hrs.
Over 4 days. It's fab.

The company I work for has always been 35hrs. I work 8-4 with an hour for lunch which is lovely. First company I've had that though! Makes a big difference

Took a new job a couple of years ago and went from 35 to 40 hrs. It's amazing how much nicer 35 hrs was! Although I do at least WFH so can still be making dinner by 5.

I thought 35 hours was a normal working week? That’s been the case everywhere I’ve ever worked (mixture of public and private sector).
Usually 9am to 5pm with an unpaid hour for lunch.
