Any recruiters? Recruiting managers?

I've always wanted to work at a particular organisation. It's a place where my interests and skillset collides. I've always known that there were 2 potential roles that I could apply for if and when advertised. I've kept an eye out for months and months. One of the roles came up and I applied and have been invited to the first part of the assessment/interview process in a couple of weeks. Today I've been alerted the other job description role is advertised too, the closing date is a few days before my assessment for the other role. I would love to do either role. Would it be seen as unfocused to apply for the second role too? I'm not sure how it would look to the recruiters. For each role they are recruiting more than one person. Would love the view of recruiters and hiring managers on this.

Not a recruiter.

But how big is the organisation? Are the roles in the same or related departments? Are the roles very different in terms of seniority, experience and skillsets?

I’ve worked in recruitment previously. I would probably see the person as a bit desperate, and therefore they would likely accept the lower end of the pay-scale.

As long as the roles are like for like I would just explain in your covering letter. I wouldn’t have a problem with this as good talent is hard to find. Best of luck!

Very large organisation, two different departments, one job higher pay scale and starting salary than the other. The one I've been invited to assessment for is a drop in pay to my most recent role ( I left last week, took VR as I hated it but was looking out for adverts for these roles for months and months and on and off over the years). My experience is applicable to both roles just applied differently.
