Go back to work or start University?

Got a dilemma!

Planned on going to University in Sept, but have been looking for a part time job.

Seen some full time jobs, with good hours and wage, and are local to me. Thinking of applying.

We would be so much better off as a family, as at the moment we have enough to pay the bills but that is about it.

So, what would you do?

Confused!

if u feel you could do better going back to university then go back, but look at it can you get a good job that pays well with out a degree then dnt. i left university only did one year because i thought it wasnt for me and got a good job that paid me well as if i have a few letters after my name hehehe

if you can scrimp for a little while and make it by without working then maybe go to Uni and just deal with being a little tight. the jobs out of uni will be far better for you and your family. more respect, better pay...better hours and generally benefit packages (depending on what you decide to get the degree in).

are you pregnant? or do you already have children?

The thing is as well is as I'm currently self-employed (just not earning a lot!), I can still keep that up as well with a job.

eandz,
We are already that tight tbh. The student loan alone would make a mass difference.

Not pregnant, but got two dc.

the student loan would help you but remeber you will have to pay it back do you know what you want to study

I'm going to study psychology and social welfare.

Think I may just apply for work, and if I get work, worry about it then!

you could work part time and study it does work at better too, only downside is that you take abit longer then a full time student, anyways good luck!!!

ok.. then maybe you should take the job and put school off for when you have more time and are better off? and i think in london experience is given

i'm somewhat in the same situation. I'm close to graduation but am now 5 months pregnant. so I won't be able to go back in the fall since baby will be quite small and we have to keep making payments on my husbands student loan. i can't really afford to go back to school right away so i have to put it off till the spring...and delay graduating...

but once your out of school it only gets easier not to go back. eh. (so i've been warned by my professors). they expect me to come to school with the baby and magically keep it from crying and disrupting lectures.

i left a full time job to be a full time student i am finished in 3 weeks cant wait,
so excited i have done it!

been skint for 3 years only scraping by but it is going to be worth it, i soon will be earning more money than i would have been if i was still stuck in my old job! if you want to do it go for it! would you not be able to work part time whilst studying?? i mange (just), means house work and washing piles up a bit who cares? me, hell no!

ive also been thinking about going to study-me and my mum run a shop but the money is so tight as its only just started. i love the shop and enjoy it so much but the money just isn'tcoming in. i wanted to go in to nursing but i found out i was pregnant and have been putting it off ever since. its the thought of being skint for 3 years but then having a well paid-ish job at the end of it that makes me think its worth it!
